I am so excited that you have found your way here!

My name is Molly and my absolute favorite thing in the world is to share my passion for the outdoors (especially birds!) with others!

In 2017, after graduating from college with a social studies teaching degree, I randomly decided to take a job, 500 miles away from home at an environmental education center. I thought it was just a fun way to spend my time after the stresses of college life that was sorta related to my degree. Little did I know that taking that job would be the best decision I ever made. There I fell in love with environmental education and discovered what I wanted to do with the rest of my life! I feel so grateful to be able to say that when many others take years to find that thing.

After traveling around the US for a few years working at different EE centers, the pandemic hit, schools shut down, and my job sent us home. After spending a few months at my parents' home in suburban Pennsylvania, I yearned to be back in the woods.  That is when I realized that nature is actually all around us, we just have to take the time to look for it.

Further, I realized that there was a gap in the EE world.  EE centers were only trying to get people to come to them to learn, not providing people with the resources to interact with the natural spaces that surround them in their daily lives.  That is where the idea for Chickadee Outdoors was born!  In this new chapter in my career, I want to provide the everyday person with the knowledge and resources to help them interact, respect and appreciate nature in their daily lives.
